Maui Spa & Wellness Center to Launch in Boca Raton January 2007

In January 2007, the $3 million 7,000-square foot stand-alone Maui Spa & Wellness Center of Boca Raton will open its doors to showcase the Aloha Spirit of Maui. Guests will be greeted with flower leis and herbal tea. Spa personnel will emphasize inner healing and harmony, rather than “outer beauty” treatments. The spa and wellness center combines eastern and western influences, with 10 private spa treatment rooms, a Hana hydrotherapy room, a Kipahulu relaxation room, a full-service salon, spa retail, and a private, Asian-influenced rooftop garden amidst a Feng Shui balanced environment. Completing the healing experience: the services of an acupuncturist, chiropractor and psychotherapist.

The spa’s Hana Room, named after the rainforest area of Maui, is a water-focused retreat inspired by the 7 sacred pools found on the Island, with two private copper soaking tubs, two wet tables for exfoliating body treatments, deluge waterfall showers and Swiss needle showers, steam and state-of-the-art infrared saunas. The room also features a Feng Shui designed cold plunge pool to refresh and awaken the body post-treatment.

On the rooftop is an Asian-themed garden where guests may take such fitness classes as sunrise/sunset Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi, and cultural Hula. A Tea Bar will also be housed here, serving whole leaf signature tea elixirs and light spa cuisine. The Maui Spa & Wellness Center is located at 2100 NW Boca Raton Boulevard in Boca Raton, Florida.

Aroma Spa in Riveria Maya’s Essencia Introduces Chocolate Massage for Kids

Chocolate was an important part of life for the Mayan civilization. Now Aroma, the first pampering organic spa in the Riviera Maya, Mexico, has introduced a new and delicious Chocolate Massage for kids featuring organic cacao oil made locally in the Yucatan, the land of the Mayans.

Aroma's kids' Chocolate Massage is a back and frontal therapeutic massage using chocolate oil made from locally-grown cacao seeds. The massage is done outside by the pool or in the comfort of their room, in the company of the child’s parents. The treatment begins with the therapists showing the kids the cacao seeds and explaining the process of how chocolate is made. While the kids are getting the sweet, moisturizing massage, the therapist teaches the kids about the benefits of chocolate and the history of the Mayans and their love for chocolate. Once the treatment ends, kids get delicious hot chocolate with cinnamon as a treat. The Chocolate Massage is available for kids between the ages of 6 and 18 years old. Cost: $75 for 45 minutes.

Located on a two-mile stretch of white sand, Esencia, a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, is a boutique resort with 29 suites and guestrooms.
